Our Story
Our Story
I have always felt a deep sense of connection to nature, and dreamed of living in the countryside that has relatively low levels of air and noise pollution; where I could grow my own vegetables and raise chickens and snails.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in December, 2019 and the world was under lockdown I was hit with the fear of what I would do to feed my family if the lockdown resulted in food shortage.
Right after the country was opened up for economic activity, I dived into finding arable land for my farm business. I purchased my 1st 10 acre piece of farmland in June, 2020 in Odeng – Oboase, a cocoa farming community close to Adeiso in the Upper West Akyim district. This was fraught with a lot of challenges such as dealing with our local custodians, coupled with the different groups of people who claim ownership to a piece of land. This journey opened my eyes to the vast difference of living standards between urban and rural settlements.
Even though I still live in the city with my family, the farm affords me the opportunity to travel to the countryside.
Later that same year in 2020, we established the Yellow sunrise plantations limited as a legal entity duly registered in the Republic of Ghana.
